People struggle with death, the effects of sin, suffering, and they asked why did God allow that to happen? Sometimes people try to comfort themselves and others with remarks like; “Things are hard, but they are worse for others.” People struggle with hope in 2020 and they ask what will 2021 brings? Are we allowed to even hope for a better year?

What is hope? Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. Hope is the belief that circumstances in the future will be better, 2021! Hope is also a wish in your heart of good things to come, God’s Kingdom in its fullness! We have a tremendous basis for hope because our hope is based upon who Jesus is and what He has promised. Hope looks toward the future.

If you cannot understand the cross, and that you need to come to the cross, confess your guilt and sins and allow Jesus to nail your sins with Him on the cross, then you will also struggle with hope and the sense of life and you will respond in anger like the crowd did on that terrible day with Stephen’s stoning.
