Christ is risen, and this truth we commemorate every Sunday because it was the day that Christ rose again after He was crucified on Friday. For us as Christians, Sunday is the memorial of our new life in Christ.

The resurrection is the centre of all hope! If the Lord’s wants to comfort you, He comforts you with the resurrection of Jesus! This is how we comfort the sick and the sad! This how the Lord comforts at the grave through His Spirit! This is how we as human beings hope and can be comforted!

True faith in our Lord Jesus teaches us to not hold on to this life and earthly possessions, but to be assured that in this life there is already a life after death! This is what the Gospel does! It makes us free from everything that keep us captive to this world.

We have this comfort in our Risen Lord is well. And nothing, as stated in Romans 8:39, can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Not even death!
