Jesus went to the temple to teach, and all the people came to Him, and He sat down and taught them. But then it was disrupted with a noise. The Pharisees and teachers of the Law had a woman among them who was caught red-handed in the act of adultery. She had sinned, and they knew the Law! The death penalty was the punishment for adultery. Such an indecent act deserved no other sentence than death. The emotions were high, the bloodlust and hate overwhelming, but our Lord brought calmness. Jesus knows people hearts. He knew they were there to accuse Him. He silently bent down and wrote with His finger on the ground. And the answer to them was: “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” The Bible is clear on this matter; not even one remained, all of them were sinners, and no one could throw the stone.
