As part of church life at Blaxland, a number of groups meet throughout the week to spend time together, to grow in God’s word, encourage one another and serve our community. If you would like to come along or learn more about any of the ministries, please get in contact with us.
As the safety of children is very important to us we have implemented the ChildSafe program. All our leaders and volunteers involved in children’s ministry are required to have a current Working with Children’s Clearance.
Church Library
We have a well-stocked Library to encourage, instruct, guide and promote growth in knowledge and faith. Items include Christian fiction, Youth Resources, Bible Study, Christian Living and a section for the juniors in both book form and media. The Library is easy to use and available to all.
Wednesday Evening Bible Study (1)
An evening bible study is held fortnightly on a Wednesday for fellowship and study of God’s word that meets at the minister’s residence.
Wednesday Evening Bible Study (2)
An evening bible study is held fortnightly on the alternate week to Bible Study (1) for fellowship and study of God’s word and is held at various homes.
Triple Y Seniors Group
YYY is a group for over 55yr old – [Yester Year’s Youth / Triple Y]. YYY meet fortnightly for coffee, fellowship, encouragement and a study at various homes. As a group they also go on occasional outings together, exploring parts of God’s creation.
Op Shop

Our Op Shop is open between 9am and 12 pm on Friday mornings except during school holidays. We offer good quality items at reasonable prices. The goods range from clothing, books, linen, shoes, jewellery, fabric and household items. We receive an abundance of donations every week for which we are very thankful. Unfortunately due to lack of space, we are not able to accept any furniture.
Everyone is most welcome to come for a free morning tea, some home baked treats and a chat, even if you don’t make a purchase.
We have a friendly team of people who volunteer their time to make the Op Shop functional within a welcoming environment. Our motto is “Love through service”.
Donations are most welcome and can be brought in on the Friday mornings or contact us to make alternate arrangements.
Our proceeds support Gateway Family Services, who offer assistance within our local community. We also lend support to a number of overseas aid agencies.
Playgroup
Parents and toddlers are invited to join our playgroup.
Some of the activities that we do are :- sensory play, coordination play, singing, story, craft, sandpit play & painting.

Please be advised that for Term 4 this year (2023) Playgroup will be in hiatus (paused) due to expected building works.
Kid’s Program
We seek to be a loving community, helping children to grow in their understanding of who Jesus is through teaching them about God’s love and helping them to grow in their understanding of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Children join in the beginning of the 9:30am service before heading out to the children’s program. The program usually includes a bible story, a fun craft and morning tea.
