Why is God not giving us the New Earth and the New Heaven already as He has promised in the Book of Revelation? Jesus answered in our text verse in Mark 13:10. The Gospel must first be preached to all nations. He told His disciples when they clearly did not understand, and He answered them again with His ascension to Heaven. The disciples still thought there would be an Israelite kingdom on earth. All their hopes and expectations were in this question. But the disciples still did not understand how big God’s kingdom in reality was. Jesus understood, and He rectified their misunderstanding. This was not the kingdom of Israel in its full glory but the age of the Holy Spirit to come.
