A personal conversation about money and giving make people uncomfortable. In Malachi 3, the Lord asks: “Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me.” It seems strange to think that a man could rob God. What could someone possibly steal from God? The Lord explained how it could happen – they deprived God by withholding their tithes and offerings. In 2 Corinthians 8, the Apostle Paul is quick to point out that generous giving is an act of divine grace (8:1). It is only as God blesses and enables that we can give in the first place.
