God’s power is the greatest when we’re at our weakest. And what we need the most in our weakness is God’s sufficient grace, not more strength and not a dramatic deliverance. Why is this? So, it focuses on Christ and His glory and what God in His grace has done in Jesus and that Jesus delivered me from death and eternal hell! If God’s grace alone is sufficient to sustain me, I can’t take credit for sustaining myself. God does it all, and we will boast only in Him. Therefore, Paul could be content with weaknesses, insults and hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
