Belgic Confession article 21 begins with a reference to Christ being a High Priest “after the order of Melchizedek.” Jesus is our High Priest. With His ascension our Lord Jesus took His rightful place at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. The Father gave all power to Him. All power in heaven and earth, King of Kings was given to Him. Through Him the Father governs now, and His place is at the right hand of his Father. Humiliated as a man, then crucified, buried, but above all victorious over the grave and death and the Risen Christ is now seated at the right hand of His Father where He reigns. Everything is now under the Kingship of Christ, demons, princes, and world events. This is such a comfort…. He is our High Priest in heaven!
